A bubble of wealth
I find reading about wealthy people exciting. The descriptions and imagery of lavish houses and items give me the same reverie as when I used to read Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling would describe the magical surroundings. Something about "a sunken Italien garden, a half-acre deep" and "a high hallway into a bright rosy-colored space" is so pleasing to imagine. The topic of affluence and material greatness comes up in Arthur every now and then involving the character, Muffy.
When I was younger I found it easy to think that her wealth was cool and some-what compensated for her shallow and ignorant personality (she is a tv character, not a real 8-year old child so I can say that). But as I skipped through a couple of her episodes, even though in the end she learned the morals behind her wrong behavior, she still sucks lol. Both her and Gatsby have many hired people to assist their daily wants and big facilities for leisurely activities. Gatsby's library is, however, filled with real books and in Muffy's Classy Classics Club she didn't even know her house had a library. She also consistently orders her butler around which kind of makes sense because that is his job but in most episodes, she is so rude that I wish to free him.
Muffy definitely lives in a bubble of her own wealth which could be a pattern with "old money" people since they likely don't know anything different whereas "new money" is more of a started-from-the-bottom-now-we're-here situation so those people tend to be more understanding.

ohmygosh i love reading about rich people too! I read all 3 of the crazy rich asians books (yes there were 3 apparently) and the book wasn't even a book! It was basically a book with no real plot (a bad plot if you were to insist there was one) but a bunch of gorgeous descriptions about rich people and their rich people tings. Either way, I enjoyed it because who doesn't love to imagine buying million dollar diamond earrings without a blink?
